if we consider customization = slow changes of design till something is exactly as you like it

Then as you customize, your baseline moves from 3 to 5 to 8, so it is hard to get used to the default setup (3).

E.g. Default setup = Macbook You add “Multiple monitors” = + 2 Comfort and Functionality You add “Shortcuts” = + 1 Speed and Functionality You add “Moonlander” = + 2 Comfort and Speed You add “MOBA Mouse” = + 1 Comfort and Effectiveness

So later when you have to do something on the Default Setup “Macbook”, e.g. when you are borrowing a computer to type on, it becomes really uncomfortable, you are slow and possibly even slower on that setup that you would have been if you weren’t used to a fancy customized setup.

It makes it hard to switch to the default again because you will constantly notice the difference and would only ever want to work on your fancy setup.

Like blog-my tech setup is the main reason I am determined to get a remote work job. Tho there are lots of other reason too XD
